Kirkby Grange Farm

So it finally happened after what feels like months of perhaps unnecessary torment and stress – we bought Kirkby Grange Farm in Flockton. A beatiful 4 bedroom end cottage that forms part of the original farmhouse that would be the ultimate if it were ever joined back up again.

The huge task of actually moving started on Saturday after receiving the keys on Friday evening.

The boys are hugely disappointed that there is no WiFi at the house yet 🙂

More info and pics will come soon….

Busy weekend

This could be our last weekend in Ossett so we have spent all of yesterday emptying the loft of the crap that was up there – it filled almost all of the floor space of one of the garages….

We have now taken one full Range Rover load to the recycling centre and have a half load of items to take to a charity shop. There is therefore roughly one van load of gear ready to go to Kirkby Grange Farm next weekend (hopefully).

We are still hopeful of the solicitors completing the contractual aspects and cash transfers over to the seller so that we can get the keys on Friday. There are still many things accordingly for the solicitors to sort although we are concerned that they have been questioning a whole heap of things that we have already agreed with the seller several weeks ago – we just hope that this is not going to reflect on our ability to transition this coming weekend.

Daddy is off to Stockholm on Monday evening and will not return until late on Thursday so all is being cut fine – however daddy is on holiday all of the following week so there should be plenty of time for the transfer of goods over to the new house…

Fingers crossed…

Great weekend in Stamford but….

We just returned from a weekend in Stamford with Richard, Gisele, Spencer and Kerrie which was a super fun time – big thanks to Richard and Gisele for putting us up and of course to Granny Cuckoo for looking after our boys.

We perhaps overlooked Frisay might and so all felt tender on Saturday and even on Sat evening.

Kerrie and Spencer’s pad is going to be tremendous when they finish it – they are very lucky to have found such a fab place in the location.

So back to the but bit – sat here in the airport waiting to head out to Hamburg for four long days and realising that while it has been fun, we have not spent any time with our boys and frankly I feel slightly sick and already miss them terribly 🙁 Doesn’t help that poor Olly was not wanting to listen and eat his lovely Sunday lunch so am sat here feeling like I let him (and myself of course) down by getting cross with him.

Looking forward to some time off work soon so that I can put this all right….

ForkHall is for sale

Well, it has taken a few weeks to get the details in place but we have finally managed to get our home up with an estate agent and is now officially for sale.

We hope to be moving over to our new house in Flockton within the next 4 to 6 weeks (we are somewhat dependant on the solicitors getting their acts into gear and finalizing the agreements) and so it would be wonderful if we can get the Ossett house moving on to its next owner and occupier.

We have enjoyed 13 years in Ossett but have decided to move on to a dream house, a house that has 400 years worth of character and 399 years of challenges to work on over the years that we will live there. It will mean a longer commute to school for the kids and overall slightly shorter (albeit probably a little more expensive for daddy) and a little shorter for mummy but it will be worth it.
