Poorly Olly :-(

Poor Olly actually fell asleep during read write inc at school yesterday – apparently he was DEVASTATED and full of apologies to Miss Dix πŸ™

He burst into tears when mummy collected him after school telling her that he had waited ages for her and thought she wasn’t coming for him. Β When mummy asked why he didn’t tell anyone that he was not feeling well he said that he didn’t know he was poorly – poor little mite. Β By the time they got home, he had a 39 degree fever and was clearly not well πŸ™

He slept in mummy’s bed overnight and sadly neither of them got much sleep, and to top it all poor Olly still has a raging temperature of almost 40 degrees EVEN with Calpol AND ibruprofen in him πŸ™

Elliot is of course also not feeling very well as the sympathy sickness kicks in – but thankfully he is manning up and has agreed with mummy that he will walk into school today without mummy as Olly isn’t fit to make the walk – good boy Elly – we are super proud of you.

Olly, get well soon buddy – enjoy the day with the Xbox and stay wrapped up – daddy has a couple of presents for you that he knows will make you feel better – Mater and Randolph for Disney Infinity πŸ™‚

Flamingo Land day trip

We set off bright and early to meet Paula, Rich and Cayton at Flamingo Land near Malton for 10am. We were a little early but the sun was shining and the rain stayed away. The zoo and a few of the kids rides were open along with the pub (lunch sorted) and the mega play areas πŸ™‚

The kids all had a great time out in the sunshine and we learned just how many rides that the place has – certainly a summer return may well be necessary to test out all the goodness that was not open today πŸ™‚

A great day – thanks to Paula, Rich and Cayton for joining us – we had a great time.

Security cameras

A week or so ago our next door neighbour had a break in during the daytime – the first such break in in over 10 years on the cul-de-sac πŸ™

Then on Tuesday we were stopped in the car in Mirfield by the police to give us advice on security of the car since apparently car crime is on the UP in Yorkshire and specifically Dewsbury and Mirfield.

Now, while we don’t live in either of these places, it made Simon think about the challenges and the requirement for increased security at home. So, he has now ordered a security camera system that will connect up to the internet to allow remote monitoring and the like.

With luck, these four cameras will be in place in a little over a week giving more piece of mind to all of us shortly afterwards.
