Windermere bound…

We were doing so well by avoiding illness (except from the flu type stuff a month or so back) and typically today Elliot has conjunctivitis in his left eye.  The poor little guy is dealing with it fairly well but is definitely not overly happy with his eye.  It has started seeping the gunge and is just beginning to swell up – he has an appointment to see the doctor tomorrow morning so hopefully antibiotics will be available and will help get rid of it ASAP.

We are Windermere bound for the weekend, so that should be fun.  We need to pack some gear into Simon’s car so that he can drive straight from the office to the lodge and arrive in time for a few nice pints 🙂

Easter around the corner

This year is disappearing at a tremendous rate !!!!

We had a quick weekend last weekend – Abbie Thompson’s B’Day party was at Cool Cats in Leeds – a great venue – massive and loads for the kids to do.  Even Elliot seemed to enjoy playing in the ball pools for a while – he was absolutely mesmerised in watching the other kids running around the maze above his head and swinging from the rope swings etc.  It was almost as good as watching the television it seems.  The only disappointment was we were not allowed to take photographs in the play centre at all – how society is changing over the years…..

We went for a swim on Sunday morning and Elliot certainly does enjoy playing in the pool – still not keen on getting the water in his face but if he will splash himself then he only has himself to blame 😉

The weather seems to be changing as well – 18 degrees C or thereabouts on Sunday afternoon, so the little guy sat outside in his pram for his afternoon nap.

Finally, we are almost at Easter !!!!

Manchester trip

Elliot is now finding that sleeping on his side is FAR more comfortable – we have caught him asleep on many mornings now 🙂

Are we rotten parents for taking photographs like these?

We have had a fabulous 4 days even though the weather has shown us all of the seasons in as many days – often many times during each day.  The Christening on Sunday was really cool, and the boys really did well to behave themselves perfectly and without any issue at all (well except Elliot who decided is was time for a number two right as we all stood in front of the altar for the main event ….  Typical – he knows how to time it).  The food post the event was stunning – sorry no photographs….

We stayed in the Midland Hotel in Manchester city centre on the Sunday night and while we were enjoying a rather nice bottle of red, who should we see but some TV celebrities – the chap who plays Marlon Dingle, Richard Arnold from GMTV and Nicky Chapman to name but a few.  The hotel was very nice, the room large and the service was pretty good (once it actually began – we waited almost 20 minutes to be served in the bagr initially – then once service commenced no further complaints) and the location spot on.

15 minutes walk to Selfridges, Harvey Nichols and Louis Vuitton – so V was tres happy.  We succeeded in all but on of the requirements – we failed to get anything at all for Elliot.  It seems that designer clothes are not something that are easy to come by for little tots – probably a good thing given that £80 was the apparent going rate for a pair of half decent jeans – not bad at 6 to 8 times the price of a typical high street store !!!

Out for V’s birthday yesterday to the Italian in Wakefield – Simon drank a little too much and needed to “unload” some of it before a healthy sleep would be applicable 🙁 We managed to leave the bar from the pram in the restaurant so will have to go back this week to collect it.  The meal was spot on, and with the exception of Simon drinking too much, we think it fair to say all had a great time.

Finally, take a look at the following…

We are definitely worried about the televisual viewing habits of the littlest Rust…..

Nothing…

Another week down, wow this year is passing by quickly.  This weekend we are pretty busy – we have Fabrizio’s Christening tomorrow, Vicky’s 30th on Monday and NOTHING on Tuesday :-).  And (shouldn’t start a sentence with and apparently) we are seeing Dave and Jean today – again Vicky claims to have advised Simon of the trip, but as usual, she didn’t 🙂

Happy Birthday Daniel – 10 today

It has been a really busy week and as a result not much has been done to update this page – our apologies.

The Riley Chadwicks have been through the mill a bit over the last 5 or 6 days as the sickness and diarrhoea (Gastroenteritis) has caught on in the house.  All three of the kids have been very unwell unfortunately, and Vicky and Simon have therefore wanted to keep Elliot away as he may not fare to well with such ailments.  There is a suggestion that it may have come from Becka’s school, not that it makes it any easier.

Elliot has been down with Vicky swimming a couple of times this week and is beginning to be less bothered by the shower after the swim – in fact on Tuesday, the cheeky monkey fell asleep while being showered !!

This weekend is a big weekend, as we have Fabrizio Giarletta’s christening on Sunday where we are taking up the official position of God Parents – let’s hope we will be of use :-).  The this big 30th Birthday is on Monday, so we have booked into the Midland in Manchester for Sunday night, to enable us to shop in Manchester city centre on Monday so find suitable gifts (yes it is the wrong way round – Simon you should be buying the gifts BEFORE the birthday and not on it!!!!!).
