Olly’s Operation date is IN

The 8th August is the big day – we have to get to the relevant department at the Barnsley Hospital for his day case πŸ™‚ then a swift tonsil removal and home in time for supper….

Really pleased to have the date come through but then nervous because it has come through….

Olly has his Pre-assessment appointment through :-)

Finally we got the appointment through for Olly’s Pre-assessment appointment at Barnsley Hospital on the 23rd July. his means that the actual tonsillectomy operation will be approx one month later towards the end of August.

Thankfully, we will be able to enjoy our holiday out in Portugal to the max before this appointment and then it will be prepping mummy and daddy for the operation – apparently the operation is treated as a day case in Barnsley so hopefully it will be pretty straightforward on the day, with just a couple of weeks of stress afterwards as he weans back into eating and drinking properly – bit of ice cream and yoghurt etc methinks….

One step closer…

Bank Holiday weekend in the garden :-)

What a wonderful weekend for the kids and the weather. Three cracking days with little cloud coverage and plenty of glorious sunshine πŸ™‚

We took advantage and painted the fences in the front yarn along with the fences down the back of the house. It took a solid 2 1/2 days of both Vicky and Simon and Tim and Heather helped for the first 1/2.

It looks lime we have fitted a whole new fence around the garden – with the exception of the bit in the front garden that was wind damaged – it will stay this way as it would need all taking up to fix that little problem – it has been that way for nine years so is unlikely to change anytime soon πŸ™‚

Elliot and Oliver have spent the whole weekend playing can their scooters and as a result have built up their skill level nicely. On top of this we have taken the pedals etc off Oliver’s bike and he is using it as a balance bike. We have also ordered a new bike for Elliot so that we can begin the job of teaching him to ride a bike properly. Hopefully we will be able to get it sorted ASAP and then he can enjoy a little freedom of being able to ride a bike πŸ™‚

Another win for Elliot :-)

Elliot’s class at school had a little healthy eating competition over the Easter holiday. They had to try as many new (healthy) things as they could each day for the entire holiday. As it turns out, Elliot won :-). Well, I suppose Elliot AND Oliver won as Oliver tried all the things that Elly did in fairness πŸ™‚

Anyway, he was awarded a little gift of some honey, some healthy breakfast granola and a cool apron for when he does some baking :-). He was absolutely made up πŸ™‚

Nice one Elliot – now just to remember to stay on the healthy route – and if you could keep Daddy on the right track while you are at it ?? πŸ™‚
