Simon’s an idiot – did you not know already?

On the way to pick up his new spectacles, we were in Mirfield and Simon thought he could get around the inside of a truck that was turning right.  The car fit through the gap, BUT the truck then turned right and in doing so the rear of said truck ran out to the left and rather handily and neatly removed the drivers side door mirror from the car, smashing it in the process leaving it hanging by the wires that are used to heat and move the glass in it.  Pillock does not cover it fully 🙁

The car is not going to be usable for a few days since the drivers side mirror is pretty vital to one’s safety.

Vicky will drop it off at Sandal BMW on Monday and they will rape Simon’s wallet at some point later in the week.

At least Vicky didn’t go on at Simon for the mistake – Simon is definitely very thankful for that.  Maybe later in the week (just after the cost comes in) he will be ready for the deserved ridiculing.

First day at school / nursery

Elliot’s first half day at nursery was yesterday – unsurprisingly he was very keen to stay and did not want to leave after lunch when mummy went to pick him up again.  The plan is he will be @ nursery two mornings a week from now until his brother arrives in a few months time.  We hope that he then has something of his own to do, that means when Oliver does make an entrance, Elliot can continue with it, giving Vicky time with Oliver solo.  Plus Elliot needs to mix with other kids of course.

We also checked out the local school last week – it is a bit bigger than we both thought in terms of total number of pupils – 300 between the ages of 4 and 11.  We are going to check out a few others also just to be sure that we are making the right choice etc.  I guess it is actually a bit of a lottery in terms of what he will get when he goes.  Will check out the public schools as well – will just need to figure out if we can locate enough coinage to enable that option 🙂

Happy Birthday Granddad

We wish you a wonderful day.

We got the baby clothes out of the loft this morning to see if any of them are unused etc – ready for Oliver.  We also need to figure out what we actually need to buy for him.

Bought some more wood yesterday for show shelves in the garage – Simon really has too many shoes…..  Anyway, they are up and the shoes installed 🙂

Heading out now, so maybe more later…

The lurgy’s in town :-(

Well, we didn’t make the swimming on Sunday as Elliot and mummy were not up to it and had colds starting.  Simon foolishly mentioned that he doesn’t get the illness like this, and yes, he came home early on Monday with the lurgy – prat !

He spent all night shivering but was OK by late morning.  Vicky is coming down with the same issue again but harder tonight and to compound it more Oliver is growing and stretching so Vicky is pretty darned uncomfortable and can’t really take anything to deal with the pain etc.  Bummer.

We have sorted out a nursery for Elliot today so he will be doing two mornings a week from next Tuesday – apparently he didn’t want to leave today when Vicky took him to show him round again.  So it looks like we will be OK in leaving him there next week 🙂

Another weekend already…

So far, January seems to be running by really quickly.  Today we nipped down to B&Q to get some additional wood for shelving in the garage.  The plan is to extent the shoe shelving to enable a better shoe management setup – and for it to be in the garage.

Now complete, it immediately highlights just how many shoes we (well, Simon actually) have.  Put it this was, we now have 5 six foot by one foot shelves and they are full and we potentially need more facilities.

Tomorrow, we are considering swimming – it has been far too long since Elliot last went swimming – in fact it was probably in Jamaica LAST January !!! Poor show mummy and daddy 🙁
