Christmas decorations deployed…

Vicky was successful in persuading Simon to get the Christmas decorations up in the house yesterday – we ended up buying two real trees – one for the lounge (5ft) and one for the conservatory (7ft).Β  The conservatory tree has all of the Disney decorations on and looks really cool, and the tree in the lounge is simple with purple and silver decorations on it.

The outdoor stuff as supplied by Granny Rust are in full swing in the back garden – basically they are all (conservatory plus outside) setup to be on only when there is somebody physically in the house or garden to see them – pretty cool – and given that they cost 25 pence per hour to run, prob a good job πŸ™‚

Simon has been out today at the Manchester Derby with a couple of German chaps that work for a reseller that sells the AppSense software.Β  Only the 2nd time Simon has been to a football match in the last 10 years – it was very cold (-2 degrees C) but the atmosphere was pretty electric – guess when it is City vs. United, then it will always be this way.Β  United took it 1-0 at the City ground – so there were plenty of folks advising all of their tactics – maybe football would be better run this way – comments from noisy louts making the strategic decisions πŸ™‚

Home again – it snowed last night !!

Took a look outside last night / this morning (4:30am) to see an inch of snow had covered most of the ground – looking forward to breaking Elliot’s new wellies in the morning – BUT by morning it had nearly all gone πŸ™

We got back last night from a couple of days Christmas shopping in Newcastle – it was very cold and when we got home the car was very full – we should definitely have taken the estate car for the extra load capacity – that said, the lack of capacity meant we did not go mad πŸ™‚

Elliot has been learning to take photographs while we were away – here are a couple of his shots….

NICE ……

Trip to Newcastle

We have booked a hotel in Necastle near the Metro Centre for the end of this week, the boys (P & M) are booked in to grannies for a couple of nights, and we are heading Christmas shopping uuup North πŸ™‚

Typically we have all picked up coughs and colds over the last week or so, but at least Elliot’s is looking like it may have cleared before we set of on Thursday.

Vicky has almost lost her voice (no bollockings for Simon then – or that he can hear anyway πŸ™‚ ) and Simon is just being a typical bloke – thinks he is far worse than he is…

He is in his new room

Last night was Elliot’s first night in his new room πŸ™‚ And to get him to go to sleep in there, Simon had to sleep on the floor in there also πŸ™‚Β  Vicky woke Simon (who obviously wasn’t actually asleep) at 10:30 to go to bed… Elliot slept through until 4:30am and was found on the floor at this time when he whimpered – he was promptly popped back into bed (Simon almost stood on Elliot at this time when he walked into the room to find him …. )

All this aside, he loves the new room and was asleep in no time tonight πŸ™‚
