Mia’s adventures

it has been a while since we posted anything but today we have finally finished the initial set of updates to Oliver’s MX5.

Over the last few weeks we have put a new Apple CarPlay stereo including reversing camera and digital aerial, all new LED lamps, replaced the reversing bulbs with bulbs that also act as fog lights (unless the car is in reverse and then the drivers side stays as fog light while the passenger side operates as a reversing light). We have also wired up the heated rear screen and put an OEM switch in to operate it. Finally, per Oliver’s request, we have today installed heated seat pads into both seats and installed the wiring looms to operate them. There is a photo of the installed switches to show how OEM we have managed to make it all look as a finished article.

Robot vacuum

Why did we not buy one of these before now? We recently purchased a cheap robot vacuum cleaner – Eufy G50.

Wow, just wow, every morning we now awake to a dog hair free snug and a rug that is well coiffed 🙂

It is a really basic model but can be controlled by Alexa and is setup to automatically head out and clean while we all sleep.

It does need emptying each morning as the dust bin is only small (as you would expect of course) and we have no idea how long it will live, but for now it has blown our mind 🙂

Happy Birthday Elliot Jack – 18 today

And just like that, Elliot is 18 !!!

We can’t quite believe that in what feels today like a blink of the eye, he is 18 and joins us in adulthood. It really does not feel like 18 years ago, we were pacing the corridors of Pontefract Hospital wondering why he was reluctant to come and meet us all…. In the end all it took was a Sunday lunch out and 24 ish hours later, out he came.

We are so proud of the man you have become Elliot – keep being you – we love you buddy

Looking forward to the steak tonight – have a wonderful day, even though it is at college and starts with Computer Science 🙂

Oliver’s wheels

So, this happened last weekend….

We are preparing for full service and brake replacements over the coming weeks, although Olly is straight into cleaning and finding out what needs doing before figuring out the order in which it all will need doing.

Seems a pretty good runner although there are most certainly some corrosion issues that need attention in relatively short order 🙂

Not bad for 34 years of age….
