Pepsi in the vet for second check-up

Gordon took a look at him again this morning and deems that while Pepsi is clearly OK in himself and appears not to be in pain, he is still unaware of where his back legs actually are 🙁 He does not have a lot of control of the legs and so this is clearly a cause for concern.  We must keep an eye on it and try to keep him from rushing around everywhere and to try to get him to walk slowly and properly – this will help his recovery.  This may be easier said than done but we will try to help him in this recovery stage.

We are back for a further check-up in a month so we have some training to do 🙂

Simon took himself to the driving range yesterday…

…. and it turns out he can still strike a ball reasonably well 🙂 He is now seriously considering taking up playing a bit more regularly – maybe his new business will grant him the opportunity to play a little more often….

Simon found that the trusty 7 iron was his friend, the 3 iron less so, and the 3 wood was OK 50% of the time – not at all bad considering it has been 9 years since the last time they were used 🙂

Might just see if Dave wants to get a game in while the suns out 🙂

Bobby AC still needs attention :-(

So, following the pipe being fitted to Bobby a few weeks back, and the AC given a new lease of life, it only took a couple of weeks for the nice cold air to disappear once again from the outlets 🙁

The guy from the mobile AC company came back this morning to find that the gas had indeed completely vanished and that next fault to be located is that the condenser unit in the front bumper of the car is indeed damaged – clear to be seen by the fact that there was a reasonable amount of oil visible from through the bumper on the lower section of the item 🙁  So, he is making a few calls to determine a cost of a replacement item and hopefully I will hear from him v soon to determine whether we will proceed to repair it…

Dang it 🙁

Thomas land celebratory visit today

Today was the day for the celbratory visit to Thomasland in Drayton Manor Park for Oliver – to mark the successful potty training 🙂

The weather was simply stunning – 30 degrees Celsius most of the day and we did not see a cloud all day whilst at the centre.  Even though it was pretty busy (given a lot of the country’s schools finished last Friday) we still got to ride on all the things that the boys wanted to ride on – Elly even went on Bertie the Bus twice !!  Surprisingly neither of the buys were interested in the Troublesome Trucks rollercoaster – this one is usually Elliot’s favourite ride.

The photos from the day are listed below and can also be found in the gallery (same photos) so as to make easier to find when this post is not on the front page 🙂

Pepsi doing well :-)

Well, despite spending the weekend pretty much unable to walk due to his back being somewhat broken :-(, he has been showing off this morning with a few short bursts of speed on his feet.  We have taken him in to the vet this morning, and Gordon said he is delighted with the improvement from Friday, and that we should go back to see him again next week.

Pepsi is similarly delighted that he is no longer penned into the small area in the Lounge – we had set up a small area such that he would be unable to exercise himself too much as part of the recuperation time.

He still struggles a bit on the laminate flooring but can easily get himself around now.  We will look to find a couple of cheap carpet runners in order to simplify his wandering around the house.

We are going to postpone the vacation to the Lakes by a week to ensure that Pepsi’s recovery is maximised over the next 10 days.
