Last full day

We started our last full day in the park at Laser Combat with Henry, Karis, Arthur and Dale. It was in all about 50 minutes in a pre-setup venue in the trees with plenty of cover. We did not expect to have quite as much fun as we did – yet another great memory created at Center Parcs πŸ™‚

It ended up being quite a sweaty game to play so we were all super thankful for the pool after lunch – mummy and daddy’s new swim goggles worked well although poor Elly was under the weather so mummy took him back to the lodge after about an hour or so for Ibruprofen and a good couple of hours  to relax.

We went out for dinner at Hucks bar with the whole group and enjoyed a nice meal and conversation, while the kids played at the indoor play centre and the Apple Mac computer station that was available for the children.

Today sadly is about getting all our gear packed and into Bruce before heading out for breakfast (probably at the Pancake House :-)) and then on for one last swim before heading home (via Kids Place for the boys to spend their holiday greenery)

It has been a really good break and wen though the weather has been a little suboptimal, it has not impacted us at all thankfully.

Archery, Den Building and more swimming

Yesterday was another day of fun starting out with a ride over to the Outdoor Activity Centre for our Robin Hood and Little John Archery lesson.

Β Β
The boys enjoyed their lesson and Elliot even managed to get an arrow into the gold rings at the centre of the target πŸ™‚

We enjoyed a quick lunch at the Jardin de Sports before heading up to the Nature Centre to crack on with some den building. Elliot was not feeling so well by this point so sat a bit of it out although did get his mojo back for a little of it once the Ibruprofen had kicked in πŸ™‚

Check out our finished den πŸ™‚ We opted to NOT go for the water test to determine if it was water tight as we kind of knew it wouldn’t be and none of us fancied being soaked with lake water…

Of course we nipped to the pool for an hour before tea as the boys just can’t manage a day without swimming access πŸ™‚

Finally back to the lodge for dinner – a BBQ that just didn’t quite happen. By th time we managed to get the disposable grill lit, the food ha already cooked in the lodge oven and this chap didn’t want us outside as he wanted feeding…

All in all a really good day although poor Elly is not 100% πŸ™

Today is our last full day and we have laser tag this morning with Olly’s school friends and then probably swimming and dinner with all tonight.

Another big day coming up..

The fun has begun

The boys are not excited – MUCH πŸ™‚

We set ourselves up with an orientation of a treasure trail around the park πŸ™‚

It was just over an hour long and took us to all of the few paying fun areas πŸ™‚ but more importantly showed us all around the park itself. Daddy managed to get is all lost behind the paintball place in a bid to find a shortcut – just typical. Anyway, we finished a respectable fourth place and then enjoyed a swift drink in the Sports Bar.

We ten had some lunch in the lodge before heading into the pool to meet up with Olly’s school friends Henry and Karis. The sun was super bright during the pool fun and ended up giving daddy a mega headache so once we had been in around 2 hours we head back to the lodge to remove daddy’s contact lenses and have a little down time.

Dinner was courtesy of Rajinda Pradesh and the food was just lovely. Olly took his bike as it has become his favourite thing ever πŸ™‚ The plan had been to head over to the Sports Bar but poor little prince Oliver was way too tired and requested to go home.

Another mega sleep all round and we are now breakfasted and ready for another day.

Today we have Little Johns Archery this morning and Den building this afternoon πŸ™‚

Yee haa

Center Parcs

Yesterday morning Oliver came into the bedroom at 6:30am – so he managed to sleep most of the night in his own bedroom for a nice change. HOWEVER, he had already got changed into his clothes for the day !!!! Of course the day was Center Parcs day and he was super excited πŸ™‚

To top it off, he sat in Bruce for almost 1 1/2 hours while mummy and daddy packed Bruce in readiness for the trip :-). Elliot joined him for the last 30 minutes.

We have left Trevor, the deckit man painting the hall, landing and stairs for us while we are away so it should be lovely when we get home on Friday.

So once we got on the road after Ocado finally showed up, we decided to just get all the way to the park rather than stop on the way – hence we arrived just before midday and could have a little walk around to get our bearings etc.

Our lodge is a little tired but quite well located and will be good for our needs. We had paid a little extra to allow us to get in the room a bit earlier so we brought Bruce to the lodge at 2pm and then popped him in the car park to rest…

Next the boys all went swimming whole mummy unpacked at the lodge. The pool is a lot of fun and the boys had a great time on the slides.

We enjoyed a lovely dinner in the lodge before heading out on the bikes (finally the rain stopped) around the park. We stopped for a drink in the Country Club before heading down to the village centre for ice cream.

Day two had just started and we have a treasure hunt this morning, swimming with Olly’s friends this afternoon and curry for tea πŸ™‚

Yabba dabba doo…

School’s out for Summer

The boys finished for their 9 week summer vacation today at midday.

That’s right, NINE weeks…..

First stop – hair cut πŸ™‚

We are now ready for our first holiday of the season – Center Parcs in Sherwood Forest starting Monday πŸ™‚

We are all super ready for the week of relaxation and wine :-). On a serious note, we do have a few cool things setup such as Archery, den building, swimming a plenty, treasure hunting, cycling and laser quest in the forest πŸ™‚

We are SOOOO ready for the week πŸ™‚
