Olly’s first sleepover

and it is at Center Parcs πŸ™‚

Win for Olly πŸ™‚

He has been swimming, rock climbing, lunch out and has a panto to watch tonight….

It has been v strange for the rest of us – we nipped out for lunch and the cinema (we saw “Get Santa” – very cool film) and mummy spoke to Olly on the phone this evening. Olly is keen to go swimming again in the morning πŸ™‚

Let’s hope he sleeps OK tonight – we have had a week of poor sleeping so we are just hoping that he is simply tired out and sleeps well tonight πŸ™‚

Biking in Grizedale Forest

The boys took a Friday night trip to Windermere for a few cheeky pints before staying at Eds place and heading out to Grizedale Forest first thing on Saturday morning.

It was pretty cold (1 Celcius) but only a relatively short trail (circa 10 miles) but it was pretty hard going – daddy has half a cold so wasn’t feeling 100% so it took about half the ride to actually feel in the zone – the forest track sections were really good with lots of jagged rocks to keep us on our toes. The black section was visited at the end of the ride and added about another 2 miles to the overall tally as we had to get all the way back to the top of the hillside – daddy did a great job of falling off right at the top in front of the chaps who were repairing the trail – to their amusement πŸ™‚

We hope to be able to get back there sometime as it was a lot of fun all told, just a long way to go there and back in a day.

Beamish Museum Day

Up early this morning and out to Beamish Museum to make the most of our annual passes πŸ™‚

A truly terrific day was enjoyed by all in cold but lovely weather and we got to explore the parts of the museum that were closed in March when we were there last πŸ™‚

A long way to drive but so worth it πŸ™‚

Christmas has truly landed in Beamish already πŸ™‚

The steam powered carousel was just incredible – only managed the one snap of it on the phone – see above.

Christmas is coming

We are rapidly heading towards Christmas time – we have lots to do of course and work and school are simply getting in the way πŸ™‚

Next weekend, mummy is having a haircut on Saturday morning and then once finished, we are heading over to the Christmas Tree farm in Methley to select and cut down our family tree πŸ™‚ It will only be the 29th November but the next weekend will be well into December of course πŸ™

We are also planning to head up to Beamish Museum to make the most of our season ticket that we purchased earlier in the year with the Drewetts πŸ™‚

Great weekend

We enjoyed a top weekend last weekend as we had several items planned in to do and we managed to get them all done πŸ™‚

We started out with a fun lunch at the Bulls Head in Horbury before heading up to the theatre at Saint Austin’s in Wakefield. Sophie May played Princess Aurora in Sleeping Beauty wonderfully and the whole cast put on a tremendous show on the day.

Following Elliot’s swimming lesson (Oliver still not well enough to swim after being ill during the week) we head out to Halifax to take lunch over to Grannie Cuckoo’s house and to see Grandma’s new bungalow that she recently got the keys for. It needs a little paint and a couple of new radiators and will be good to go – thankfully there is plenty of time to get it all done right before moving in πŸ™‚

We finally came back to Ossett to do homework before the kids going to bed and daddy heading out for a few cheeky (and dirty) Sunday beers with a curry with the boys πŸ™‚
