We hope you all enjoy a day of rest and fun today – we certainly plan to do a bit of resting and a lot of playing – well Elliot and Oliver anyway, mummy and daddy will no doubt be busy trying to keep the boys in check π

National Trust – new members
Today we went to Nostell Priory to go on an Easter Egg hunt and ended up joining the National Trust. Funnily enough we had been discussing it on the walk from the car park to the priory, so when it came up as an option to join instead of buying access to the Priory for the day, we decided to go for it. Β£97 for a family membership for the year and we got free access to the Easter Egg hunt – a mere Β£3 discount on the day π
We decided that it would help force us to get out and do more family things at the weekends and get some mini breaks in as well. It also made us feel old as joining the National Trust is something that old people do right?
Anyway, we had a spot of lunch there and then went on to do the hunt – it was fun for the kids but a little muddy – glad we took the willies for the boys but would have been smarter to have taken them for mummy and daddy too….
A quick visit to the shop for the usual sort of crap that kids like at these sort of places and then home again for tea that Tim and Heather made for us.
Elliot did incredibly well as he did not complain once while we were out about having to walk etc – surprising considering he really did not want to leave the house (surprise) at all today. Oliver on the other hand who couldn’t wait to get there, whinged rather a lot and ended up sitting on daddy’s shoulders for most of the hunt.
So, we are already planning our next National Trust trip before the Easter holiday is over – probably up to Fountains Abbey or somewhere in the Yorkshire Dales
Get well soon Cayton
We hope you are feeling better really soon buddy.
The boys did not go out to the Middleton Railway today as previously advertised as young Cayton did not come round today with Paula as he was feeling under the weather. To the point that. He actually requested to go back to bed – given that he was supposed to be heading to the railway with our boys, he must have been feeling v unwell π
So, our guys hung out at home all morning and then head over to Tyler’s for a few hours this afternoon. They managed to pull off a late night tonight as they were not in bed until nearly 8:30pm so hopefully they will both sleep right through until after 8am tomorrow morning π
Tomorrow was planned to head over to the Kirklees Light Railway in Clayton West with Cayton and Paula – fingers crossed the little guy is feeling better tomorrow π
Sundown Adventureland day
We head out EARLY to get to Sundown Adventureland for opening time : 10am.
We were tooled up with a picnic that mummy and daddy had collected from the Ossett Co-Op last night and mummy put together this morning before getting a shower.
We met Lee, Caroline and Jessica (Jessica from Elliot’s class in school) at the door and head in. It has been beautiful blue skies all day with a nice warming sun and thankfully little in the way of winds to chill everything down. While it was still pretty cold (less than 7 Celsius) we all had a wonderful time, basking in the sunshine, enjoying the park to the max. We were the first in and pretty much the last to leave after 4pm…

Today has definitely been the nicest weather day of the year so far as well as one of the most fun.
We stopped (the Rusts) off for Sunday dinner on the way home to minimise the stuff that needed doing when we got home (bath etc)
We are all exhausted after a full day outside wandering around the park. Daddy nearly fell asleep in the second indoor play centre at 3:15pm !!
BIG sleeps coming up tonight…
School holidays start NOW. Mummy, Elliot and Oliver are going out with Paula and Cayton tomorrow – to the Middleton Railway – Olly and Cayton will have a ball π
Christmas officially over in Fork Hall
Christmas 2012 is officially over – all the decorations are, have been reboxed and are now stored in their new place in the loft. Only 11 months to go until we see them all again π
