Clumber Park Day

Yesterday we visited Clumber Park in Worksop, Nottinghamshire with Elliot’s class friend Jessica and her parents. We have never been there before but will most certainly go back there with bikes and picnic etc again.

The weather held out until the moment we were leaving (the heavens opened on us as we drove out onto the road just outside the park) so that was pretty much perfect.

Sadly Olly was not on good form yesterday as he had several mini-meltdowns and one pretty major meltdown during the trip – all pretty much about nothing πŸ™

We played cricket, football, tennis and also with the spinning tops (helicopters and tyres) that Oliver got for Christmas (and that we have not really played with due to needing HUGE open space) for what seemed like no time but that had actually been a few hours πŸ™‚

We definitely look forward to returning to the Park at some time in the not too distant future…

Grandpa in my Pocket

Today was the day to go to the Alhambra Theatre in Bradford for the “Grandpa in my Pocket” show.

One of Elliot’s friends, Jessica came along with us for the fun. The kids had a ball and in fact treat us to a slightly impromptu show of their own in Jessica’s back garden when we were dropping her off at home πŸ™‚ Clearly the show has had a positive impact on them as they were very animated and highly motivated to put on the show for us all πŸ™‚

Anyway, after the show in Bradford, we went to TGI Friday’s for a bite to eat and the silliness that daddy started earlier in the day continued nicely in the restaurant πŸ™‚ There was nobody else dining so it was no problem in fairness and all a good fun time.

Below are the pictures we managed to grab during the day. Enjoy…

On our way home :-(

So it ends. We are sat in the coffee shop waiting for breakfast and then will be boarding our luxury limo back to Faro airport….

On an unrelated point we were reading that an average 4 year old asks four hundred questions a day !!! Ours has asked about 100 already and it is not even 8:30am yet – we knew he asked a lot of questions but hadn’t thought of it until we heard about the statistic πŸ™‚

Great meal out last night

Carvoeiro was the destination but we had not selected the restaurant. Once we arrived via the free shuttle Olly went into meltdown as he wanted to eat NOW. The downside being that it was merely 5:30pm and many of the restaurants had not yet opened for business. We finally settled in a Mediterranean place called Medici that incidentally was next door to the restaurant that we had eaten in some nights earlier during the week.

The food was without question the best of the holiday and the wine was also pretty good :-). Once we had begun to get some food into the boys they also became better in their mood :-). The only slight dampener on the evening was when Oliver decided to bite a piece out of the glass that he was drinking from. How he didn’t cause himself damage is anyone’s guess but thankfully he did not cause damage.

A nice ice-cream by the ocean front ended the evening before getting a taxi back to the resort with the kids getting tucked into bed by 9pm.
