Dining room and Conservatory swap

Over the last couple of days we have swapped the function (and contents) of the conservatory and the dining room. The kids now have a playroom in the main house and we have a super large dining room with plenty of space in it ๐Ÿ™‚ ย Hopefully the kids will manage to keep their new playroom tidier than before ๐Ÿ™‚ ย We also migrated the Wii down into it to allow the boys to play with it in a more controlled location ๐Ÿ™‚

So far so good… ๐Ÿ™‚

Lounge complete :-)

As you can see, we decided to go for it – took a few days given the other things we have had on but the results are pretty good, although I think we have seen enough of paintbrushes and wallpaper for a little while ๐Ÿ™‚

This paper was a bit more difficult to match up than the rest as the flocking needed to go a certain way and the paper itself was less inclined to be moved once in situ.

Anyway, I think we have proven that we can put up wallpaper relatively successfully (as well as take it down again – that bit is not much fun though). The port / burgundy colour we have put on the two walls adjoining the feature wall was a bugger to find – we needed up with one of the Dulux colours that they mix in store and even then it took four coats to get it right…. :-(. Not looking forward to trying to paint that lighter in the future – will be a swine to cover over given its deep colour….

Yay – Bruce is BACK

Finally after two weeks the wheels are finished ๐Ÿ™‚

They genuinely look like brand new and together with the new centre caps, Bruce is looking sensational ๐Ÿ™‚

Painful ordeal overall and we are very thankful for being able to store the big fella at Grandma and Grandad’s garage in Kippax while the wheels were away.

Spare room finished – lounge on the cards

We have finally finished the spare room and it is awaiting the bed (this Sunday hopefully) before it is ready to use – all set for cuckoo in two weeks ๐Ÿ™‚

The ground floor WC is also finished with a New York print on the wall and a new light fitting installed – all looks cool and only took 20 months from having the room done in the first place…. ๐Ÿ™

Vicky decided that the lounge could do with a refresh so the paper has been selected (ยฃ50 a roll so it had better go on well…… no pressure then) and curtains picked out – just need to find a suitable colour to sit on the two walls on either end of the room – deep burgundy colour is the current favourite (not big walls due to the windows so the colour will not be overpowering). We took the first layer of the existing feature wall green paper off tonight although will be needing the services of a wallpaper remover to get the backing off – sadly the guy that put it up seems to have trapped lots of grit behind the paper so this is obviously still there and while the backing of that paper could make a good backing paper, the sheer volume of bumps etc will show through on the new paper quite badly we think ๐Ÿ™

All this needs doing before Simon starts his new job in two weeks so again, no pressure.

Finally, we hope to get Bruce’s wheels in the next 48 hours so that needs fitting in as well….

Busy, busy busy…..
