Colds :-(

Elliot and Vicky have both been caught up with colds this week which has been less than good for both of them :-(.

We are preparing for a week away on hols next week to coincide with Simon’s Birthday – we may even pop up to Sandy Hills for a day for reminiscing etc – well, Simon will – no one else remembers the place since they only been once a couple of years back with Grandma and Grandpa.

Definitely looking forward to a week of R&R – even though it is only a couple of months since the last break, it really does seem like ages ago πŸ™‚

The gym is a callin’ for Simon – the lazy sod has not been in for a little while – any longer and his training shoes will start running themselves !!

Happy Birthday Timmy

The dog now seems to be almost repaired in that he has not been sick for nearly a week πŸ™‚

Elliot has been today to his first full Sing and Sign session – the first of 12 apparently.Β  Today he learned about asking for more it seems – not yet perfected it however πŸ™‚

Tim’s 30th Birthday tomorrow – ouch πŸ™‚ Enjoy the day o Sheepy one – apparently they are going to a fancy restaurant (in Skye speak I think that means down the local pub) that if you not heard of it, you can’t afford to go their – we deffo can’t afford it then.

Sick as a dog :-(

The baby sleeps and now the dog is up all night being sick…….. TYPICAL

Max has clearly been dining on a few of Simon, Vicky AND Elliot’s socks over the last few weeks. Thus far he has passed 3 socks through his rear end and 1 came back up via vomit last night. The one that came up last night has been missing for almost 3 weeks !!!

He has been sick three times in total, although all incidents were this morning so we are hopeful that we may be passed the worst of it – the vet suggests ensuring that he continues to be hydrated and that he eats and does not bring it all back again πŸ™

We are kind of hoping that he is not going to require an operation to remove the final items – we are really not sure how many there could be – but it could be another 2 or 3 socks πŸ™

The Belgian potion that Francesco and Sophie gave to us for Elliot’s teething seems to really work – the little guy slept right through last night – the first time in almost 3 weeks. Let’s see how we get on over the next few days.

Vicky pointed out today that he now sits up properly when taking a bath…

Easter in Windermere

2 weeks have passed since the last entry – we apologise – we have been busy enjoying the lake district by having two fabulous weekends in the May’s lodge.Β  We have spent a little cash, drunk a lot of alcohol, slept a little (thanks Elliot πŸ™ ) but have a FAB time.Β  Photos from the trip(s) will be available as soon as time permits.

We invested in a child carrier called a KidComfort III from a company called Deuter (www.deuter.com) that Elliot absolutely loves.Β  We have not used his pushchair really at all since buying the carrier, as it contains many pockets to hold changes of clothes and food etc, and is very comfortable from a carrier point of view – Elliot seems content with it from the point of view of the guy who is sitting in it – typically is asleep within a few minutes of getting in πŸ™‚

Also, on Easter Sunday, Elliot’s FIRST TOOTH came through on his jaw on his right hand side – typically it was not Vicky or Simon that noticed it but his cousin Becca πŸ™‚ What great parents – not noticing something so important – we apologise Elliot.

Simon worked from the lodge on Thursday before the Easter Bank Holiday weekend, and then travelled directly to the office today – saving time and maximising the break.

We think that we will spent mucho time in the lakes this year and next at the very least as it is tres accessible to Simon from work, and it a fab place to go to be away from it.

Windermere bound…

We were doing so well by avoiding illness (except from the flu type stuff a month or so back) and typically today Elliot has conjunctivitis in his left eye.Β  The poor little guy is dealing with it fairly well but is definitely not overly happy with his eye.Β  It has started seeping the gunge and is just beginning to swell up – he has an appointment to see the doctor tomorrow morning so hopefully antibiotics will be available and will help get rid of it ASAP.

We are Windermere bound for the weekend, so that should be fun.Β  We need to pack some gear into Simon’s car so that he can drive straight from the office to the lodge and arrive in time for a few nice pints πŸ™‚
