5 Series servies – HALF usual price :-)

Vicky’s car has been in for a service today – it has actually not needed servicing for over 18 months !!! Awesome.

Anyway, the local BMW dealership quoted just over £400 to do the Inspection 1 service and Air Conditioning service.  So, we located a BMW specialist (happens to be 200 yards down the road from Sandal BMW) who did the same job for £188 all in – result.

The only downside is that they did not reset the date based indicator – so I guess it is going back for that doing – not a major piece of work though I wouldn’t have thought.

Simon needs to check the iPod integration in the car as Vicky has suggested that it no longer functions 🙁 Hopefully just a job for a steady hand and a soldering iron… so Simon has already figured out what a new one will cost 🙂

Still no joy on a iPod kit for the 7 🙁

The countdown is ON

9 weeks to go … Time has flown by and we were only just commenting today on how 2 1/2 years ago, we had everything well and truly ready including a hospital bag for Vicky.

This time around it is different it seems – more relaxed (or certainly for Simon) and as a result his room has not yet been decorated, and there is still lots to do.

Simon has dug out a small patch of grass in the back garden (behind the fence where the bins etc are presently) that will be the permanent home for the shed, so that we can get on in building the climbing frame and swings / slide etc for the boys.  Hopefully, the existing shed can be moved as early as next weekend – just depends on Simon’s ability to arrange some sand to go under the shed as the base.

Simon bought a cross trainer during the week last week, so has already been in for three sessions.  It is a really cool model (NordicTrack AudioStrider 900) that has a wireless heart rate monitor, so Simon is able to train and ensure that the heart rate is always being followed closely.  Just need to figure out exactly when he will actually be able to use it.  He found out that 8:30pm is not a good time, as he came off it feeling wide awake and as a result was unable to sleep that night – the first night – guess it could have been new toy excitement 🙂

Getting old – up last night until just after midnight, up this morning with Elliot @ 7:30, and Simon is absolutely knackered – it’s only 7:40 pm !! Oh dear….

Weekend gone already !!!

Weekends just fly by, don’t they ? 🙁

We have bought Elliot a new lower tog duvet today as he has Simon’s body temperature and as a consequence it always too hot during the night.  We also bought him some new pyjamas that are lighter weight to help with the excessive heat he generates at night 🙂

We also bought Pepsi and Max a new plastic dog bed – we put their existing covered duvets into the new bed and now they have two beds downstairs.  Over the last few weeks we have been slowly, yet consistently, migrating them downstairs overnight.  It has taken a month to go from their being upstairs each night, to being downstairs every night.  i.e. 1 night downstairs, two up for a week, then one up, two down for a week, then one up and three down for a week, then one up, four down, then all down.  Pepsi has been fine with the transition from he get-go, but Max, had a couple of weeks of whining from about 4am.  This has stopped now, although strangely the pair of little buggers do seem to “hear” more stuff outside from downstairs.  Prob much better for security in fairness.

Vicky is going to get her car back tomorrow at some point and is really looking forward to it.  We saw the car yesterday at Clare’s – Vicky was tempted for a moment to go home and get the keys and take it home – then wait to see how long it would be before her Dad called to say that he had lost it… 🙂

Oliver is really kicking his mummy’s butt at the minute – he is really zapping her energy in a big way at the minute.  10 weeks to go…..

Chicken Pox almost resolved

The poor little mite has really fought the spots and itchiness over the last week. They have all scabbed over and some have actually disappeared already fortunately.

The cold weather seems to have gone away for the time being – let’s hope it does not come back.  So, the result is that we are able to use the conservatory again – not too cold, and hence not costing a small fortune to use.

Simon worked last Sunday so is really looking forward to two days off this weekend 🙂 Particularly given he was up at 4:40am today to get into London for a 9am meeting

Friday the 13th !!!

Unfortunately, Vicky has noticed that Elliot has finally contracted the Chicken Pox – I guess it probably better that he gets them now than in 3 months when Oliver is still brand new 🙂

Great to be back in the 7. 🙂 Amazing how spoilt we have been with it – probably not a bad thing to not have it for a week – really makes you appreciate it more when it is there.
