Up, early doors, and got the entire play centre finished by lunchtime – including decking inside the towers at floor level to ensure that muddy feet do not appearย when using the play area.
Elliot has been outside from just after 10am until almost 3pm – to say he loves it is a slight understatement.ย Will up load photos later tonight if time permits – Done ๐
We have moved the cars and other stuff (outdoor toys) from the garage and placed them in the shed around in the area, and eventually Simon will get around to moving the toys that are in the other shed (around the other side of the house) into this place also – keeping everything together.ย Guess that will probably happen when the weather improves and the patio furniture etc comes out to play ๐
It has definitely made a part of the garden whose only use was to get to another part of the garden, into a very usable kids play area.ย Just need some seats for the adults etc. Suspect we may “need” to sit out with Elliot since he has chosen on a couple of occasions to slide down head first when our backs have been turned – little monkey.
We wish you a wonderful day and hope you do only what you want.:-)
Well, the majority of the work has been completed on the play centre – the slide is up, the two towers are up, and we have decked around the base of the steps to make it less muddy etc.
Plan is to get out of bed early(ish) tomorrow and complete the swings side of the set – then all we have left to complete is the decking underneath the picnic table and the play area.ย Oh yes, and then lay a couple of paving stones under the entrance to the new shed, sorry outdoor play toy centre :-).
It’s the weekend again, and this means that Simon is heading back out into the garden to finish the play center.ย Hopefully this weekend will be much less cold, with less rain, snow and sleet than last weekend – otherwise, we will have a very disappointed and probably irritated Simon ๐
The sun is shining presently but it is pretty windy – lets hope the wind dies off and the Sun shines on……
Simon has spent almost all of the weekend out in the garden behind the garage with the intent of moving the shed into a new location to make room for Elliot’s new climbing frame with swings and slide etc ๐ย After 2 full days slog, the shed is moved and happy in its new home, we purchased the Rainbow Activity Center from Costco and began the monumental build.
There are something like 400 bits to be attached etc – to we have laid proper foundations to ensure it lives on for many years ๐ The we is Granddad and Simon – Greg has thankfully given up tres amount of time to lead the job (Simon would (as we all know) have been knackered without the help (read lead).
It will be a few weeks before we can finish the job since our schedules won’t really allow us to complete it – that being said, the ground needs a few weeks to recover – it rained, it snowed, it hailed on us and the wind was pretty strong also.ย All the seasons appeared to have dropped on us over the two days so the floor is just boggy – hope the grass is able to grow back again, and we may just build a little deck around the base of the new activity centre – might be the best way to deal with the area.ย Photos will be available when we have finished it all.
As per usual, we do expect Simon to be whinging about being sore by about Tuesday – might even be sooner – we all know what he is like ๐
The shed will house all of the outdoor play things for Elliot etc once we have this finished and all cleaned up.
