Information Super Highway

Our brand new Internet feed and home telephone was installed today. Our existing telephone number has been deleted and no longer exists and we are on a temporary number while we attempt to claw back our original Wakefield number that we had prior to leaving the country in 2010.

The Internet connection started at a blazing 40Mb down, 15Mb up when the install finished, dropped down to 5Mb down, 3Mb up and is presently hovering at 18Mb down, 10Mb up. This is quite some distance away from the 52Mb down, 16Mb up that BT promised us when we signed up. There is still plenty of time for the ‘bedding in’ to happen so now stress just yet. If we don’t get more than the 38Mb down, then we will be expecting to be put on a less expensive tariff – something that I am sure BT will not be wanting to do, but given that they set the expectations then they must be comfortable that they can make it happen.

Time will tell …

James and the Giant Peach at the Alhambra

We got a last minute invitation to go to the Alhambra Theatre in Bradford with Gracie and her mummy today and given daddy’s work commitment fell through at the last minute, we went along. We had a great time as the tickets were in a nice box for six, with refreshments served direct to the box at the interval and plenty of space for the kids to relax without impacting on other theatre goers πŸ™‚

We had a quick lunch afterwards at Frankie and Benny’s in Bradford near the railway station.

Mummy picked up a leaflet for a show called Grandpa in my Pocket – a theatre adaptation from the TV series. We think we will be booking a lounge for this later in the summer as it was a lovely trip out, with the kids having a ball.

Get well soon Cayton

We hope you are feeling better really soon buddy.

The boys did not go out to the Middleton Railway today as previously advertised as young Cayton did not come round today with Paula as he was feeling under the weather. To the point that. He actually requested to go back to bed – given that he was supposed to be heading to the railway with our boys, he must have been feeling v unwell πŸ™

So, our guys hung out at home all morning and then head over to Tyler’s for a few hours this afternoon. They managed to pull off a late night tonight as they were not in bed until nearly 8:30pm so hopefully they will both sleep right through until after 8am tomorrow morning πŸ™‚

Tomorrow was planned to head over to the Kirklees Light Railway in Clayton West with Cayton and Paula – fingers crossed the little guy is feeling better tomorrow πŸ™‚

Sundown Adventureland day

We head out EARLY to get to Sundown Adventureland for opening time : 10am.

We were tooled up with a picnic that mummy and daddy had collected from the Ossett Co-Op last night and mummy put together this morning before getting a shower.

We met Lee, Caroline and Jessica (Jessica from Elliot’s class in school) at the door and head in. It has been beautiful blue skies all day with a nice warming sun and thankfully little in the way of winds to chill everything down. While it was still pretty cold (less than 7 Celsius) we all had a wonderful time, basking in the sunshine, enjoying the park to the max. We were the first in and pretty much the last to leave after 4pm…

Today has definitely been the nicest weather day of the year so far as well as one of the most fun.

We stopped (the Rusts) off for Sunday dinner on the way home to minimise the stuff that needed doing when we got home (bath etc)

We are all exhausted after a full day outside wandering around the park. Daddy nearly fell asleep in the second indoor play centre at 3:15pm !!

BIG sleeps coming up tonight…

School holidays start NOW. Mummy, Elliot and Oliver are going out with Paula and Cayton tomorrow – to the Middleton Railway – Olly and Cayton will have a ball πŸ™‚

Happy Valentines Day

We hope you have a super special day today πŸ˜€

Elliot has taken some goodies in for the teachers and also for all the girls in year 1 – he was super excited to be able to give the young ladies their gift this morning πŸ™‚
