Bruce on axle stands

That’s right, the big guy is currently in Kippax, up on stilts as his wheels are finally being treated at the Wheel shop in Sandal.  Simon has finally got round to fixing his mistakes (curbed wheels) but to do so means that the wheels needed to be taken off and taken to the specialist without the car… 🙁

Hopefully we will be in receipt of 4 brand new (looking) alloy wheels that can go back on the car this time next week.  Simon has purchased some Swissvax wheel protector to apply to the new wheels to reduce the amount of gunge that will build up (brake dust) following use.  They should clean up much easier etc and be in way better condition for longer (assuming Simon doesn’t get in the drivers seat and catch curbs of course !!!)

Simon has also ordered 4 brand new centre caps for the wheels to ensure that the nearly new look is followed through across the wheels 🙂  Now all he needs to do is find a weekend where he can spend the daylight hours detailing the body work etc – then he will really look like new again – plus would be protected for the winter months of sludge and salt etc…

Happy Birthday Elliot – 7 today

We hope you have a simply fab day today 🙂

We will be celebrating by knocking a few pins down at the bowling alley after school and then back home for a light birthday tea and Elliot wants to spend quality time on the XBOX with Tyler

When we arrived at school this morning, the year 2 children broke out into an impromptu ‘Happy Birthday’ sing song :-). Elliot was very pleased to be the centre of attention despite clearly being a tad uncomfortable 🙂

Happy Birthday big guy.

All our love, mummy, daddy, Olly, Pepsi and Max. XXXX OOOO

Autumn is definitely upon us:-(

Wow, the temperature has really dropped off this last few days – the heating has been on at ForkHall now and may well be coming on more permanently….

Today it was bright blue skies as we got out of the car at the school car park and before we were even half way up to school, the rain started coming down :-(. Then blue sky again as we got up to the junior school.

Simon is over in Manchester this morning and it is the same over there – dark rain clouds, then bright blue sky before returning to the dark rain clouds once again 🙁

This is clearly the sign of the autumn – there are loads of leaves that have dropped from the trees as well.

Guess the fantastic summer had to end at some point – we have definitely been lucky this year – let’s hope next year is as good….

Hamsterley Forest

Simon and Lee head out early yesterday with the mountain bikes up to Hamsterley Forest in County Durham. It was a 26k ride with LOTS of gruelling uphill sections (the first 2k was ALL uphill) but had more than enough awesome downhill sections and a LOT of highly technical bits to boot. Despite being a significantly shorter ride than Dalby, it certainly beat Simon almost as much 🙂

It was a good day out where we took it a bit easier given it was just the two of us, but we still felt absolutely BEAT come the return to the car. 🙂

Simon to Emily with her new roof rack for the bikes – incredibly having the bikes up top destroys fuel economy – down to around 42mpg from probably about 56 to 58mpg that it would have been without the bikes on top.
