Temperature confirmed :-(

The poor little soul did not have a good night at all – was warm enough already in the BEFORE his temperature soared 🙁 40.2 Celsius during the night and the calpol / ibruprofen was only just able to control it.

He has been much better today although this is only because of the aforementioned drugs managing away the symptoms.

He has very red tonsils and we note a couple of yellow spots have now appeared so we are hoping that this is just a viral bout of the dreaded tonsillitis. Assuming this is the case, he should be back to normal in a coupe of days – the bacterial form tends to be nearer the 5 days to a week before he is right again.

We are of course hoping that this timing is good and hence he will NOT have tonsillitis just before his operation on the 8th August….

Fingers crossed on all counts….

Would you believe that he has a temperature again….

Unbelievably, poor Olly has come down with a temperature this evening… :-(. It has only been three weeks since his last tonsillitis episode….

Anyway, we have been out on our bikes in a nearby dog walking field to rebuild the skills up and then we went out to the cinema to watch Despicable Me 2 – a fun movie and the kids loved it – well excepting the poor Olly was beginning to get his temperature towards the end of the movie.

Finally, the boys were training at the Ossett Martial Arts Academy tonight – they are both getting on really well with it – Olly managed 6 hops today (only managed 4 previously and is a key area that sir has been working Olly on) and Elly did some tremendous high kicks.

Hopefully Olly will get a good nights sleep and be feeling better tomorrow 🙂

Prep meeting for Olly’s tonsillectomy

This afternoon we head out to Barnsley General for an appointment to ready us all for the operation. Basically we will head into the hospital on the 8th August for 8am where he will be readied and then taken in for the operation according to the schedule. It will take just 10 minutes to perform the task although he will not be back around for an hour or so, whereupon we will need to wait for approximately 8 hours before they will consider letting him go home. Even then he needs to have eaten and show that he has no problems doing so.

So, he is now fully aware that the operation is taking place and is as ready as he will ever be – we clearly will not be ready for the operation regardless of when it takes place….

On our way home :-(

So it ends. We are sat in the coffee shop waiting for breakfast and then will be boarding our luxury limo back to Faro airport….

On an unrelated point we were reading that an average 4 year old asks four hundred questions a day !!! Ours has asked about 100 already and it is not even 8:30am yet – we knew he asked a lot of questions but hadn’t thought of it until we heard about the statistic 🙂
