Long journey but a good first day it seems

Elliot arrived in Cape Town, 24 hours after leaving the house. They are only 1 hour ahead of us in the UK, so the big flight was essentially through the night (almost 11 hours).

Rather frustratingly, he was awarded a centre seat with little legroom so apparently did not get a great deal of sleep. That and the fact that they went straight into a South African rugby training session was a winner 🙂

Anyway, says he has had a great first day and managed to get a little sunburn on his neck – dipstick

Model Y *might* be here soon

We received an email earlier today from Tesla advising us that the leasing company had added access to us as ”the driver”. so we accessed the app to find that the car that it is connected to is in Donnington Park….. Not bad considering they told us last week that the car would be delivered in November…..

So, it seems that we might need to do registration transfer from the Velar and sell it……

exciting times….

Firework Champions at Newby Hall

On Saturday afternoon, we drove up to Newby Hall to attend the 2021 Firework Champions.

We attended the same event two years ago with Rob, April and Isabel and had a fantastic time, so when we realised that the event was on once again this last weekend and that we had already booked and paid for tickets, we were absolutely delighted.

We pitched up the gazebo and enjoyed some wonderful food with great company…

There were ultimately thousands of visitors so having selected a gazebo pitch was a super smart move, to ensure that we could enjoy the show with plenty of space for us all. The following picture was taken v early on, before most people had settled in…

This year, we were to enjoy some aerial fireworks that were delivered from two planes that were also performing some incredible acrobatics to boot, before the main event as the skies darkened sufficiently.

Finally, we settled in to enjoy the three companies that were competing and we hope that we will be able to secure tickets for next years event…

Vicky has her COVID vaccination scheduled….

So after making a big fuss of clearly how old Simon is (as he has now had his vaccination), Vicky got a text from the doctor to state that they are primed to supply hers…..

She is scheduled in for Friday this week in the afternoon – but has the luxury of it taking place at the actual doctor surgery rather than (like Simon) in a car park….
