Oh oh, at 1:10am mummy was alerted to an issue coming from the bathroom – the littlest had got up to make use of the facilities and was struggling to pull up his panama bottoms. She noticed that he was quite warm so out came the trusty thermometer – 39.8 Celcius – oh CRAP.
S, looks like at least one day off school while we figure out what is wrong 🙁
Poor little monkey isn’t getting any breaks it seems 🙁
At the Ossett Academy for the Splish Splash swimming lessons this morning. Oliver managed to swim on his back WITHOUT armbands 🙂 WOW. Then he proved that he can JUST read water without them too :-). AWESOME progress.
Elliot was really flying today to the point that the teacher (Nicola) has asked us to call the office and see if we can get Elliot transferred over (or up) to Richards lesson from next week onwards. He is ready for the next stage and Richard’s class (runs at the same time thankfully) will make a big difference for him going forwards 🙂

Well the great news is that BOTH boys had good first days yesterday 🙂
Olly was absolutely shattered when he returned home last night and Elly was on good form. In fact it would appear his first day was somewhat spirited – he and Euan have already been separated during class time and are no longer allowed to sit next to each other because they mess around too much :-(. Who’d have thought that of Elly? Funny.
Mummy is not looking forward to collection and early evening today as daddy is out and there is martial Arts tonight – here’s hoping Olly eats dinner right away and hence gains more energy to be able to drive through Martial Arts….
Monday the 2nd September and the first day back at school. Elliot is now upstairs in the Junior block in Year 2 and Oliver is still at Sunny Hill School and is now in Reception.
We can’t believe that Olly is now in Reception !!! Was only two years ago that Elliot wasa starting in Reception at St Hilda’s…..
Elliot actually pranced into school happily with Euan and was totally OK with us leaving him to go out and play with his friends. We are clearly hoping that this will long continue 🙂
Then down to Sunny Hill as Olly joined his new class in the main part of the Sunny Hill building. his new teacher (Miss Dix) didn’t seem that well organised as she didn’t recognise either the children or their names – here’s hoping that that changes quickly and that Olly has great things to report about her 🙂
A fantastic day had by all at Diggerland in Castleford today. The photo above is the “tame” (as denoted by Alicia) Groundshuttle ride – I think all of us were thrown from our seats not long after the tame comment was made 🙂
The boys are now at the perfect age to be enjoying Diggerland as they are tall enough to ride on everything that is available – AND DRIVE most of it. Lissy even managed to get behind the wheel of a 4×4 Mitsubishi SUV 🙂 None of the rest of us were allowed as we were either too old or not tall enough 🙁
The bobcats were daddy’s favourite followed closely by the GroundShuttle above and the dizzy spinner – the latter two for sheer wow factor.
Typically the boys were most attracted to the dodgems that of course were pay per view – thankfully our £10 of tokens seemed to go a LOOOOOONNNNNNNGGGG way 🙂
We finished the day up with lunch at TGI Fridays in Xscape and then a little bouncing around on the trampolines for the bigger boys and bouncy castle slide for all the boys 🙂
Thanks Granddad for a FANTASTIC day – we all really enjoyed ourselves 😀
