Daddy’s ski lessons are completed

Daddy had his final lesson late last night and is now an accomplished beginner who can parallel turn on his skis on an indoor ski centre πŸ™‚

It was super busy last night with it being Saturday night and the ski instructor suggested that dry January may be adding to the reasoning – i.e. many people not drinking so deciding to get some fitness and still go out on a Saturday night πŸ™‚

Either way, it was a lot of fun and probably good to be skiing with so many people around to have to avoid as will only be a good thing that he can ski around obstacles etc.

So, he now just has to wait until Friday of this next week to be skiing on real snow at a real resort in Switzerland ….

Ski Lessons

Daddy went over to Xscape tonight and endured a 3 hour ski lesson (he decided Ski rather than board in the end) to get through certifications 1 and 2 (of 5). There were 10 people in total being trained tonight in this class, but were about 4 or 5 similar sized classes on – a real money pit this ski training malarcky…. (60UKP each…)

He LOVED every minute of it and in fact has brought forward his lessons for stage 3 and 4 to Tuesday of next week (instead of Saturday night) and has also booked the final stage 5 for next Saturday night πŸ™‚

The kids and mummy SO need to get in on the action as well πŸ™‚

New Years walk

We took a picnic to Rother Valley Park this morning and took the dog for a nice long walk in the muddy fields around the lake.

This year was a little different to the last time we were there in that we have Hugo now and the fact that it was not horizontal raining today πŸ™‚ we also got to watch some jet-bikers skipping around the smaller jet-ski lake – those bad boys didn’t sound much but by crikey they were FAST.

Hugo managed a two hour wander around with no intention of weeing despite being placed in ideal grassy circumstances for at least 20 minutes at the end of the walk – then promptly weed in the car less than 5 minutes after having got in, while we were getting out of our wellies etc πŸ™

Thankfully he stayed clean and dry for the remainder of the journey as we called into Coast to Coast restaurant in Sheffield’s Centertainment area πŸ™‚

Then homeward for a cheeky New Yeara Gin and Lemonade πŸ™‚ Such sweet joys …

Ski lessons booked…. Gulp!

Daddy has got two three hour ski lessons booked in starting this coming Sunday evening – GULP!

Decided to go for two three hour sessions and then a final single hour session to get the 5 stages of the required certification. An eight hour single day gig was too frightening a prospect apparently…. Meow…

Let’s see if he damages himself….

Later today, over to the Alhambra to watch Jack and the Beanstalk πŸ™‚
