Grandma / Great Grandma passed away at 3:55am this morning comfortably in her sleep.
Dad / Granddad and Grandpa / Great Grandpa have been anxiously waiting on this day for some time.
She is being taken to Lawrence Funeral home in Bell Hall, Halifax and the funeral will be coming shortly thereafter.
We will be under the more strict COVID-19 funeral arrangements of course as and when that funeral takes place.
We have pushed forward with Christmas given the fun and games that the year has brought us all so far.
So, we began the task of getting the decorations out and beginning the process of decorating the house.
We started in the office…
… and moved on to the tree in the snug….
…. and we will continue next weekend …..

Sadly our gift has “gone missing” in the delivery process so we will need to replace it ASAP 🙁 AV is pretty furious about it although you will hear all about it later…. 🙃

Steve and Simon took down 5 more trees on Saturday – 4 sycamores and an acorn tree. All we roughly 40 feet high so not quite fully embedded but all we’re at risk of pushing a garden wall down.
We have a nice amount of firewood now available that has been placed in the log store at the bottom and back of the stack – THAT was definitely a bit of a back breaker 😔
We also planned the next stage of the cut back where we need to rent a cherry picker type of device to get high enough safely to cut back the bushes. We will also require a wood chipper as we are out of storage options behin the container for the smaller branches etc.
It already looks way better but sadly the existence of the ivy (also mainly removed) has caused a pretty significant impact on the trees and bushes that is now more obvious. Hopefully over time this will fill in.
