Poorly Olly, poorly Daddy

Poor Olly had a harsh night last night with around 24 hours of 39C + fever ending in his lying in bed in just his underpants to stay cool.  Thankfully the Calpol and Ibruprofen seem to have finally managed to get a hold of the temperature for him (although it took until 9am this morning (from yesterday morning) to do so 🙁  However, he got the sweats as he lay in bed last night and had soaked mummy’s side of the bed nicely for her 🙁

Daddy has also picked up a cold from somewhere and had a sub-optimal night, however feels a lot better today and is looking forward to spending the day in the house in tracksuits with the boys 🙂  Elly is on top form and wants to fight – he seems to just want to do lots of battles at the moment – hence he loved it in Halifax as he was able to go into battle with Uncle Dan.

We are bitterly disappointed that we were unable to stay at Great Grandma’s last night, but it was unquestionably the right decision to bring him home late last night.  We are just debating on whether to take him to the walk in centre this afternoon, or wait until later on / tomorrow morning.  Gut feel suggests that they would think we were wasting their time given it has only been 36 hours and is now under control, but we feel that we need his notes to have listed that we visited given his history….

Danger – shopping visit to Oliver Sweeney

Daddy took his gloves (Christmas Gift from Grandma and Grandad) to the Oliver Sweeney store today as they are a size too big but also don’t work a advertised – super special black leather gloves that can actually control touch screen phones etc – well excepting that these ones did not work.

So, now daddy is in possession of a pair that work effortlessly with the phone / iPad but also a couple of me pairs of shoes, a new coat and a belt…. 🙂 whoops

We now need to make a trip for mummy to do a little shopping to level out the balance a tad 🙂

Tomorrow we are heading north to Cramlington to visit Great Grandma and will be staying overnight. Then we will be visiting a few others on Saturday before heading back south again.

Then on Sunday, we are heading out to Bridlington for the day to see Paula, Rich and Cayton where we might get in a pantomime.

Busy few days 🙂

Santa Express at the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway

Today was Santa Express day, so we all set off for a fab lunch at the Dog and Gun near Oxenhope and then on to the Oxenhope Railway Station for a 14:40 departure.

Sadly (and typically) it was raining and we forgot to grab our umbrellas before leaving, so we managed to find a hardware store in Queensbury that had a couple of nice large golf type umbrellas available for just £5 each 🙂

The train ride was once again a great experience and the boys once again were awarded some great presents from the jolly chap in the red cloak 🙂

Daddy managed to get a few photos so they are sat in the Holiday Gallery, although will include them here for easy access 🙂

The big day is just 3 days away now so the boys are supposedly on best behaviour 🙂 They are both a little under the weather although Elliot has been for just about a week now, so he is hoping to shake it off in the next two days 🙂

There has been a real calamity that Father Christmas was telling mummy and daddy about a certain gift that he is proposing to bring for Oliver this year – apparently the Elves have struggled to get it to work properly so have needed to send it to an electrician – apparently given the lateness in the day, they have decided to ditch it and find an alternative – this has been done but as yet they are unsure as to whether it will be ready in time – our fingers and toes are crossed that they are able to work a little late over the next couple of nights to ensure that our little ginger mouse is ecstatic on Christmas morning 🙂 Good luck little Elves…

Last day of School before Christmas…

Today was the Silcoates last day of school so the boys are now all finished for Christmas.  Their celebrations begin with a couple of nights at Grannie Cuckoo’s starting in the next hour or so 🙂

Oliver actually missed his last day of school as he had a doctor appointment at Pinderfields as a follow up to his ongoing paediatric appointments regarding his temperature issues etc.  The appointment was very late (40 minutes late) and to make matters a little worse was that we had got to the appointment nearly 20 minutes early 🙁  Anyway, he is in a holding pattern for 6 months and hence we will continue to monitor his issues over the next 6 months.
