We met up with some of the kids in Olly’s class at school for lunch at Pizza Express near the Corn Exchange in Leeds for lunch and then head over to the 14:30 show.
It lasted around an hour and was a fantastic play. Really well put on with just three actors. FC was very good – a great mix of FC with a slightly grumpy old man – really brought out a terrific character. The sound effect lady was brilliant – she did everything from the tick tock of the clock to FC sitting on the toilet – strangely the Rust boys found this the most funny of all – ‘plop’.
The only complaint would be that we were all sat on uncomfortable wooden (covered with cheap thin carpet) steps – when we got up at the end of the show, our behinds had lost much of their sensation π
Overall a great show that the kids loved.
Daddy, Lee and Uncle Tim met up at Gisburn forest just after 9am on Saturday for a swift 12 mile slog through the trail.
Daddy has only been once before and it was nearly a foot of snow the last time, so this was like going to a brand new trail – didn’t recognise much without the snow π
Right in the middle is a section called Hulley Gulley – WOW is all we can say about it – a section is like being on a rollercoaster as the bikers drop about the same as a 2 storey house and then up a similar climb around and then back down again π
We got back just after 2pm so there was plenty of time to clean the bike properly in daylight before the rest of the family got back (Elliot had been to a party with Mummy and Olly had been with Caroline D while the party was on – apparently he behaved although we are not convinced we would have been told otherwise… π ).
Finally, mummy and daddy went up to Lee and Caroline’s for a curry and some wine (the nice bottle of CNDP they kindly bought for Simon as he took the job in London π A great night as would have been expected π
So, it is already 5pm on Sunday night…. π
The weekend has literally shot by without us realising – back to school and work in the morning…
Saturday was spent getting the new TV cabinet (in the bedroom) setup with Gigabit networking (took some doing as the cable that was already there clearly had a split inside itself somewhere as it just would not connect up, no matter how daddy tried – a trip to Maplin and a 25M Cat6 cable fixed the issue π ) for the AppleTV and mummy baked some buns for Cayton’s 5th birthday party in York today.
So, that covers today for you – we hopped over to Vue in York to watch The Smurfs 2 (a great film even for the kidults π ) and then to Frankie and Benny’s for a little Birthday lunch.
Homework for both boys when we got in and now tea time and bags packing for tomorrow….
