Great garden party yesterday

We had a fantastic garden party yesterday to celebrate Simon’s 40th with plenty of friends coming round and having fun. Massive thanks to Lee for brining his BBQ – without it we would have all been eating salad and cake since Simon’s charcoal BBQ simply would not light πŸ™

The inclusion of a bouncy castle in the garden kept the kids entertained along with the option of playing on the XBOX πŸ™‚

The weather held out for us and as the evening advanced some of the adults over indulged with the wine and the Sambuca shots – Simon didn’t take much persuasion to get the latter out of course πŸ™‚

Massive thanks to Vicky for arranging everything and keeping it all on track and to everyone for coming and helping out along the way – specific call out to Paula for all the help in getting us ready to roll in the morning πŸ™‚

A great birthday – THANKS to everyone.

Emily in for service

So, we have had Emily in our lives for just over 18 months and thus far she has not made any requests to be checked over at the dealership – today is that day.

It seems she needs a standard oil service along with a brake fluid service plus the couple of things we have noted – squeaking from the steering column (which according to the service lady this morning is a common fault and relatively easily rectified) and a pump in the engine bay that makes an undesirable noise.

Hopefully, she will return in better working order (not that there is anything wrong in fairness) and will be ready for the next 18 months of valued service to us πŸ™‚

Next up is Barbara and Julie who are heading in for their first real service down at the Mike Medic in Horbury on Tuesday.

A 40th Birthday to remember :-)

The day started with cake – the boys particularly enjoyed chocolate cake for breakfast πŸ™‚ Apparently we need to do it more often πŸ™‚

Daddy was then treated to a happy birthday sing along at school where Jessica (and Gracie) had recruited and subsequently run a small choir as we approached the Junior school πŸ™‚

Following this, it was over to grandma and granddad’s for a quick fruit tea and super gifts before heading over to Halifax (via Costa for breakfast part 2) for lunch at Holdsworth House with mum and Nard. Nard and Simon took on a cheeky 2004 Rioja and Simon had a lovely fillet steak for lunch.

Then back to Silcoates to watch Olly in this swimming lesson before waiting for Elly to finish his first golf lesson and then all of us head out to Pizza Express for dinner. The boys were both keen to head to Pizza Express for some reason so we enjoyed a pizza and of course the cheeky dough balls πŸ™‚

Finally home again where a rather nice Ehlers 120/80 has been opened and is almost fully deployed at the time of writing.

The best day it could possibly have been – THANK YOU to everyone from the choir this morning though to Nard and Vicky for helping Simon polish off the vine rouge πŸ™‚

A day to remember forever – thank you all.

Simon
