Tonsillectomy ahead

We took Olly to see Mr Nussbaumer at Barnsley Hospital regarding his recurring tonsill issues.  It became apparent that the issue was to be dealt with by their removal as soon as possible although a blood test was required to ensure that Olly would not have any bleed complications.  So we had to hang around for a couple of extra hours so that Olly could have some cream applied to his skin to numb the area where the blood collection would take place.

We now need to wait for up to two weeks for an appointment to come through for the next stage.

We will only hear from the hospital about the blood tests if there is any reason for concern, and should this be the case it means that the operation would need to be undertaken at the Sheffield Children’s Hospital instead of in Barnsley.

Nearly touched 23 Celcius today in our garden

Well, the weather forecasters were on the money today – they suggested it would be the warmest day of the year and according to our little weather station, it has smashed the warmest day be nearly 5 degrees today…

We have enjoyed all day outside in the garden and the boys have had a great day. Olly has without question had the best birthday he could have had. We had a fab BBQ in the garden and even now at nearly 8pm we could still be sat outside baking in the lovely warmth. Incredible to think that just a few weeks ago, we had snow…

Poorly Olly again :-(

Olly has been threatening a temperature since Tuesday and last night it began 🙁 great timing for his birthday parties – NOT

We managed to get him in front of a doctor this morning and we have a prescription so that i it worsens we can give him the medicine. At this stage the tonsils are elevated in colour but not angry.

In other news we have an appointment to see an ENT specialist at Barnsley hospital on Tuesday next week – so hopefully we are going to get on the right road soon 🙂
