Daytrip to St Leonards Farm Park

We took a day trip out to Esholt this morning with a picnic packed and we went with Jessica, Gracie and Jessica’s mummy.  Daddy got all giddy when he recognised the Woolpack – sad muppet 🙂

We were one of the first to arrive so we had the place to ourselves and hence had plenty of time to enjoy feeding the animals on our own, before the crowds all arrived.  Then we played in the hay barn and had our picnic lunch in the front garden overlooking the pond.

After lunch, we played outside for a little while longer before going into the big indoor soft play barn for an hour or so.  Then back outside into the hay barn again (they all LOVED the hay barn as there were a few rope swings to play on as well as a little hay loft / den to play in 🙂  Finally, we were on to the bigger outdoor play structures such as the zip wire and the balance woodwork and tractor tyres etc.

The pictures from the day are in the holiday gallery but are attached below for easy access 🙂

Elliot’s first tooth falls out

It has finally come out while brushing tonight 🙂

Check out the BIG beast on its way 🙂

20130404-203424.jpg

Elliot actually came downstairs before going to sleep rather excited to advise us that he had opened his bedroom window so that the tooth fairy could fly in and do what she does 🙂  We explained that he didn’t need to leave his window open as she would find access in her own special way 🙂

Bruce is A-OK from the crash last night

Simon spent just over an hour with the rear bumper last night and managed to get 98% of the scratches out from the little accident we had on the way home.

Given that Landrover assist were coming out this morning to check the rear brakes (again) we asked the chap to take a look and comment on damage.  He confirmed Simon’s diagnosis that we did not sustain any serious damage and Bruce is therefore A-OK.

The poor young lady tat ran up the back of us is sure to still be shook up (looked like her first real crash in fairness) so Vicky rang both her and her dad to explain that we were in good shape and needed to go no further.  Simon will finish the polishing out (to get that last 2%) nearer the summer when he spends a couple of days detailing the car and re-protecting with the waxes etc.

A lucky escape for all concerned 🙂

Trip to the National Space Museum near Leicester

This morning we head out reasonably early with one of Elliot’s friends form schol, Euan and family.  We spent a few hours in the centre and had lunch etc there.  There was loads to do and the three boys just ran around from exhibit to exhibit, some of which were interactive so they were well entertained.  It was a little draining for the parents in that it was a full time job keeping an eye on them, but they had fun.

Then we went back to Euan’s house for coffee and playtime for the boys.

Sadly, on the way home a young driver ran up the back of Bruce so we need to head into see Grant (bodyshop in Ossett) to determine if any damage has actually been done.  At this early stage, it looks like she has been awfully luck and not really caused much damage (i.e. *should* polish out) to Bruce, but her little Citroen did not do quite so well as her car went underneath the back of Bruce and said hello to the towbar area etc 🙁  Oh yes, and the rear wheel hub has had binding brakes again today so Landrover are coming out tomorrow to check it out again 🙁

A few photo’s from the Space Centre however below… 🙂
