Information Super Highway

Our brand new Internet feed and home telephone was installed today. Our existing telephone number has been deleted and no longer exists and we are on a temporary number while we attempt to claw back our original Wakefield number that we had prior to leaving the country in 2010.

The Internet connection started at a blazing 40Mb down, 15Mb up when the install finished, dropped down to 5Mb down, 3Mb up and is presently hovering at 18Mb down, 10Mb up. This is quite some distance away from the 52Mb down, 16Mb up that BT promised us when we signed up. There is still plenty of time for the ‘bedding in’ to happen so now stress just yet. If we don’t get more than the 38Mb down, then we will be expecting to be put on a less expensive tariff – something that I am sure BT will not be wanting to do, but given that they set the expectations then they must be comfortable that they can make it happen.

Time will tell …

Elliot’s 1st wobbly tooth

It has finally happened and he has a wobbly tooth 🙂

He mentioned it last night and then again tonight – it is still a long way from coming out and I suspect it will be a significant drama when it does come out 🙁

He actually claims he has one on the top and one in the bottom that are loose – Daddy was unable to confirm this however – think there is only one… Time will tell of course…

World Book Day – Pirates and Princesses at School

Today is world book day and as part of the celebrations in school, years 1 and 2 of the Junior school are having a themed day where they are dressed up as either Pirates or Princesses.  Elliot (of course) was unsure as to whether he really wanted to go in his Captain Jack Sparrow outfit, but he was persuaded in the end – pretty sure he ended up pleased that he did as pretty much everyone else has turned up in a cool outfit that looks little like the usual school uniform.  Even the teachers were dressed up.

We may get a photo of the classes later today so we will pop it on here for all to see should it be made available 🙂
