Conservatory nearing completion :-)

Yes, I know you have read this before, but it really is nearly done – a big thanks to the Thompson’s for helping out with the network cabling (well David for helping and Julie for letting him 🙂 ) this weekend – the SKY HD image is now viewable in HD in the conservatory at the same time as in the main lounge – great result.  Similarly, we can now control the SKY channel etc from the conservatory – saves getting up and changing it in the lounge – another great result. – all via structured cabling around the house 🙂

We only await the AV receiver……. then we will be done.

The conservatory people are coming tomorrow afternoon to replace the scratched windows, fix the rainfall down pipe that they disturbed and refit the roof – hopefully then we will be done and they can claim their final £500 payment and disappear.

Elliot’s birthday is now just around the corner and so we are planning a little party for him on Thursday afternoon at 4pm round at the house.

Fun at the Sundown Adventure Park

The three of us had a great day today – we went out early (ish) and visited the Sundown Adventure Park near Retford.  We forgot to take a camera but Elliot had a ball – he was not up for sitting in his pushchair one bit.  In fact we wasted our time taking it – all it did was serve as an expensive trolley.

The park was really cool – for under 10’s and given we are in mid September, the park was pretty much, well …. empty.

Elliot had a go on a tractor, a train ride, and slides galore.

I suspect that we will be going back there next year (and possibly for some Christmas extravaganza) as he will be a bit older and will definitely want to do more of the stuff they have available.

Strangely enough, with all of the running around that we have done today, Elliot had no worries in getting to sleep tonight – be interesting to see what time he surfaces in the morning 🙂

Tomorrow, lunch out with Grandad @ Hazlewood Castle….

The cost is spiralling :-(

The cinema system in the conservatory is spiralling somewhat – Vicky decided that the SKY picture is not really good enough – so Simon did a little investigating and found the following HDMI extender via the network – WOW.  A very handy way to extend the HDMI signal into the conservatory from the lounge SKY box without losing any signal quality – so in theory, we will be watching SKY HD images in full High Def in a couple of weeks.

The AMP and speakers have now been shipped, as has the HDMI extender 🙂  Just need to get some more Cat5e cable to make it all happen.  Think we may also end up with some outdoor speakers in the decking area, given that we will be popping some holes through the conservatory wall for the network cables for HDMI, might as well geet some speaker cables in 🙂

Oh well, you only live once and Elliot will be catered for financially…..
