Conservatory = close, but not quite done

Well, the flooring is almost completed, although almost is NOT completed right?

Alan (the finisher) has stated that today was his last scheduled day on our job – not a great result given that there is at least one day more work to be done.

The alarm guy is coming tomorrow to fit the alarm side of things in, then the electrician on Wednesday to finalise the power side of things.  We are kind of hoping / expecting that the project manager will be sending somebody to actually finish the job as otherwise we are left with 98% of a job done and as usual it is the last 2% that makes the job right 🙁

The Conseratory is almost finished :-)

The walls are up, the glass in, the plastering done and now the painting of the internal walls complete.  There are a few finishing touches required such as heated floor mats and the laminate flooring.

The 3 seater and 2 seater are waiting to go in (in the garage currently) and some of Elliots’ new furniture is here also – storage solutions and table and chairs.

We should be 100% good to go by next weekend.

Simon is actually at home for a whole week this week 🙂

Seattle, WA, USA

Simon has travelled out to Seattle over on the West Coast of the USA today – he arrived at midnight UK time and is 8 hours behind the UK presently.

He has a couple of meetings to conduct over on the west coast and will be heading home again on Wednesday evening.  He should be home by Thursday evening and hopefully this will be the last international travel for a few months.

Back again (from Germany)

Simon has been out in Germany for a few days this week, and returned today.

The outside of the conservatory is now finished (Apparently) and the plastering work has been finished also.  Still to do the flooring.

Issues currently stand at the door by the existing decking is the wrong way around (opens the wrong way) and also that it does not clear the deck – so opens about 4 inches before being stopped dead in it’s tracks 🙁

Also, the roof (while seems watertight) is hardly a work of art and needs attention as well as a significant portion of the trim work – it is clear that somebody was rushing to finish – hardly a quality job.  Let’s just hope that the conservatory supplier / fitter is willing to sort it out – else we are going to be complaining  for a while 🙁  Typically Simon is heading out to America again on Sunday so will miss out on the potential fireworks there….
