Fibre to the Premises….

We have just this morning been able to place an order for upgraded internet connectivity here at home 🙂

OpenReach have been working in Floxkton for the last few months to enable the whole village to be able to take advantage of Fibre to the Premises (FTTP) which will effectively enable the households to have up to 1gb/s download speeds.

With BT, we have been able to order Fibre 250 which will give us up to 330mb down and 50mb up – this will be a HUGE difference to our current setup we hope 🙂

It will be installed on Jan 3rd hopefully and on the 4th, we should be taking advantage of the new power 🙂

The second best but is that it is actually cheaper each month than our current setup with BT 👌

Fun in Flockton

So, we ended up taking Eddie back to the vets on Saturday afternoon as he simply was not getting any better following Thursday’s visit. Turns out he has lost 1 kilo over those three days !!

The vet opted to keep him over night and get him setup on a drip to administer antibiotics directly as well as feeling him liquids etc

To top things off, Hugo began to show evidence of the symptoms also overnight so when we got the call to go collect Eddie, we have had Hugo checked over, and so following an injection and a thermometer up the bum (he loved them both equally), we now have two sets of tablets for them both.

Thankfully it is now Monday and they are both much better although there is still a long way to go and a likely large bill waiting for us – going in tomorrow to check that our – Eddie is not presently insured so it is all costs to us.

Fun in cuckoo land

This last week has not been great fun for Granny Cuckoo.

She received a call from the GP inviting her down to A&E as a blood test result was not showing great results.

36 hours later she was in Huddersfield Infirmary having drains fitted to her pretty badly swollen (2x and 3x) kidneys. They had effectively stopped working so her blood was relatively quickly poisoning her 🙁

This was all a week ago and now she is looking WAY better but still has some distance to cover – I.e more food needs eating and liquids drinking as the shrunk kidneys need kickstarting back into life.

Hopefully she is able to go home later today, although it will be short lived as a return is on the cards for around a month to have the drains removed and the stents (that perhaps caused the whole thing) replaced.
