We set out for breakfast first thing (well 10am but that is first thing on holidays right?). We found a trader joes so breakfast and lunch were sorted in one hit – all for the price of a hotel breakfast 🙂

We drove on the 17mile drive around the golf courses and out at Pebble Beach next to Carmel.

We head down to Pfeiffer State Park where we had lunch and saw the waterfall before heading back to Carmel for the beach – we were not allowed on the beach at Pfeiffer sadly 🙁

Olly got soaked in the sea at Carmel so had to ride home in just a towel 🙁 obviously he was advised what would happen I he got wet but seemingly was not prepared to listen.

Finally an hour in the hotel pool before shower and out for pizza in the harbour area of Monterey.

We turned up at the hotel in Monterey this evening to find that yes Mr Rust we do have a booking for you – next Monday? Oh crap…. No sir, I am afraid we are fully booked tonight….

Then to top it all, it was a non-refundable booking … 🙁

Wasted £350 🙁

Daddy in his infinite wisdom decided a hybrid car would be the weapon of choice while in the bay.

It has certainly been a squeeze to get all our gear into the little fella :-(. See the attached pics…..

Thankfully next week we have a full sized mini van at our disposal so the job of getting in to actually go anywhere will be reduced somewhat 🙂

Daddy arrived at San Francisco airport a little after 1pm local time today. The immigration queue was a big one so it took a further 3 hours to get down to the rest of the family in Almaden.

A nice steak dinner courtesy of the Outback Steakhouse take out finished the day off rather nicely.

We may be challenged with the small size of the rental car sadly but we will simply have to do what we can to get our gear in 🙂

Would you believe, not even two days in and the muppet has broken two bones in his foot falling up the stairs….

In fairness he doesn’t appear that fussed about it although when he realises he won’t be swimming or paddling In the sea, we might have a different story to tell…

At the moment he apparently thinks it is quite funny – something tells me mummy isn’t feeling the same way about it…
