Barbara and Julie serviced

Simon collected the bikes from the Bike Medic (Richard) in Horbury this afternoon. Total cost was ยฃ100 including two new gear cables and four new brake pads on Barbara – pretty good considering they look and feel fantastic ๐Ÿ™‚

Simon can’t wait to get out and test ride ๐Ÿ™‚ not a big wait as we are going to Sherwood Pines next weekend ๐Ÿ™‚

Emily in for service

So, we have had Emily in our lives for just over 18 months and thus far she has not made any requests to be checked over at the dealership – today is that day.

It seems she needs a standard oil service along with a brake fluid service plus the couple of things we have noted – squeaking from the steering column (which according to the service lady this morning is a common fault and relatively easily rectified) and a pump in the engine bay that makes an undesirable noise.

Hopefully, she will return in better working order (not that there is anything wrong in fairness) and will be ready for the next 18 months of valued service to us ๐Ÿ™‚

Next up is Barbara and Julie who are heading in for their first real service down at the Mike Medic in Horbury on Tuesday.

Mountain Biking again

Lee, Ed and Simon ventured out to Dalby Forest this morning for a mini adventure. ย This was to be the longest tour yet at around 36Km / 24 miles it was a long gruelling fight to the end ๐Ÿ™‚

We had a great tour although it did take 4 and a half hours from start to finish (not including the drive there and back and the obligatory lunch post ride ๐Ÿ™‚

So, it is home, wash bikes, shower and then we are all meeting up with better halves for a curry and a few scoops – happy days ๐Ÿ™‚

Bruce

It seems that the majority of the damage that daddy performed on Vick’t car last weekend was on the bracket that holds the compressor in place for the suspension system. ย The challenge now is in locating a bracket only as Land Rover apparently don’t freely sell the bracket on its own…

Fingers cross as it will be MUCH cheaper to repair if only a bracket….
