Home again :-)

Simon got back from New York this morning and we all went out to Beverley and Hornsea (near Bridlington) to meet up with Paula and Richard.  We had a really nice lunch in Pizza Express and then went for a walk along the promenade follows by Fish and Chips (hmmm) in Hornsea.

Greg very kindly finished the new garden shed while Simon was away and it is just awesome – so weather depending, we will be moving the gear from the old shed over to the new one tomorrow.

Elliot liked the new cars daddy brought back from America – they are already well mixed in with the old ones 🙂  We are learning which one is the Chevy, which one is the Aston, which is the Audi – OK so it is taking some learning but the Chevy is almost trained in.

Fortunately the week in Chicago (for Simon) is now off, although a new trip is required to head back to New York and Columbus the following week – we are hoping that Vicky and Elliot can come along and spend some time with Vickii and Mia Wallace before they head South to the Sunshine state 🙂 Lucky buggers !!

Columbus, Ohio

Simon was up at the crack of dawn yesterday morning, travelling out to Columbus Ohio, for the last meeting of the week.  Apparently it was a good meeting and the week has now delivered two very good prospects for the new product launch – result 🙂

Today, back in NYC before flying home tonight

Just over one day to go….

Whoops…

OK, so last night Simon was walking the streets of New York’s Upper Manhatten (read into that what you will 🙂 ) and as he was wandering down one of the streets around Broadway, some fool stepped out of a car and right into Simon’s path.  Simon, being typically British assumed it was his fault and apologised to the chap – an elderly gent who was no other than ……… Morgan Freeman !!! 🙂  He was arriving for his Broadway appearance that night – how cool.

3 more days to go….

New York, New York

Simon travelled from Denver to New York last night, landing in Laguardia airport just before midnight.  Arrived at the hotel (www.milfordplaza.com) at just before 1am to find that the room type was not available and the room would be a twin bed setup – no major drama, until he got to the room.  Seemed like something out of a porn film (apparently) with one wall completely covered in mirrors – presumably to make the room feel bigger – Simon could almost reach each wall if he held his arms out at length – GREAT.  To make matters worse, this room was costing almost $500 USD per night …. Outrageous

Anyway, the room was swapped first thing on Tuesday morning and while Simon now has a more relaxing room, it is not that much bigger than previous and the great news is – no mirrored walls and the bathroom is clean 🙂

There isn’t even a desk, and when Simon asked for one, the kind lady behind the counter pointed out that none of the rooms in the hotel were big enough for desks unfortunately – oh how tempting it was to ask how they justified their $500 per night …… A pointless question really.

4 more days to go….

Simon is on another US trip

Simon set off yesterday morning to the airport on a long trip over to Denver USA( followed by New York for a few days).  When he called home from Heathrow airport just before the big flight over to Denver, he chatted to Vicky and Elliot.  Just before the call was concluded, Elliot said “Dada, love you” – came as quite a surprise and certainly was very emotional for Simon for the duration of the flight over.  Times like these are tough, very tough, as Simon really wanted to return home and not go on the trip, although he knew he had to go.

As it stands Simon will be home in 5 days and all will be good again, but for the time being Simon is very pleased to have the iPod Touch with the photos etc on it 🙂

The iPod Touch is a really great way to watch movies – Simon watched one during the wait in Heathrow for the connection over to Denver and is planning on watching another film on the flight to New York from Denver (sat in departure lounge at Denver airport presently).  If only the device had bigger storage capacity…

Elliot was less keen to advise daddy that he loved him today – was far too concerned with playing with his toys in the bath.  Hopefully tomorrow we will be able to set up video conferencing to the TV in the lounge at home so we can see each other – will be nice if it all plays properly.
