First real day of summer

Today was a shorts and tee shirt day – not just for daddy but for many others. Daddy had to come home to change into his shorts and to leave his jumper behind after buying Olly’s new bike but before test riding it in the park πŸ™‚

19 degrees was just about reached today and we don’t recall seeing a cloud in the sky all day!!! – YES πŸ™‚

Super Sunday

We have just had an awesome day today πŸ™‚

Started off with some terrific swimming – Elliot practised breast stroke and it looked pretty flawless to the spectators and Olly did backstroke WITHOUT armbands or any other flotation help πŸ™‚

Breakfast in Newmillerdam was just lovely and then out to ride our bikes on the Spen Valley Greenway on the other side of Dewsbury. Β Oliver asked us to put the pedals back on his balance bike so we decided to go and buy him a new bike since the balance bike is WAY too small – he chose a rather fetching Batman bike in Halfords πŸ™‚

When we picked up the new bike (took 45 minutes to build it up and get it ready for action) we went straight to our favourite field for bike riding practise near our house and would you believe it, he just got up on it and rode it away πŸ™‚ Β OK, so he needs to work on his leg power to be able to pedal on anything other than slight downhills, but the balance and steering looks pretty good πŸ™‚

This last image is especially for Grandma Cuckoo – she will know why πŸ™‚

P1040144Finally, to top off a great day, Elliot’s second front tooth (top) finally came out – all day we have badgered him to pull it out and he kept “putting it off” – he came in after playing in the garden tonight for a little while and requested its removal – mummy helped and BOOM πŸ™‚

Shame that the chap that washes the cars broke the trim on Bruce’s sidesteps while washing it today – that was the only down of the day πŸ™‚
