Fountains Abbey day trip

We set out this morning at just after 10:30 heading to Fountains Abbey near Ripon – part of the National Trust gig that we bought into earlier in the month.  May as well get our money’s worth 🙂

Anyway, it was a cold day today, despite the sun making some solid appearances.  The boys LOVED climbing around the Abbey but were a little less keen on the walk to the water gardens at the other side of the area.  We even managed to find the (well hidden) golden egg during our trip – see if you can find the photo of Elliot pointing to it 🙂

Poor mummy has been poorly for the last few days and today was no exception sadly – ibuprofen wore off half way around and we left additional drugs at home 🙁  Cold drinks appear to keep the swallowing pain at bay a tad, although the ibuprofen helps to reduce the pain completely for an hour or two.  Hopefully tomorrow mummy will feel a bit better, else a trip to the Doctors will be in order – i.e. it will be the 5th day of illness 🙁

Photos from today are in the photo gallery but here is a link to them to save time…
