Destination….. Tesco

OK, so no lavish destination today, but we have succeeded in getting the bedding for the pram so hopefully (if it is not raining) we will be taking the maiden voyage on Sunday (Saturday we are going to see Vicky’s University friend Sara and her family).

We also bought a new baby monitor (got the BT Digital item) as the AngelCare system we have does not seem to work too well with the existing wireless kit in ForkHall.  It has been tested and seems to work very well.

Curry for tea tonight…… been looking forward to it all week 🙂

Boys night in

Destination….. Meadowhall

Another day, another shopping trip – this time we actually DID do some Christmas shopping and have made a really nice dent in it. Meadowhall usually have some fabulous Christmas decorations, but this year we couldn’t help feeling disappointed, with no big scene and just the usual sort of walkway lights and decorations.  The tree in the main food court was pretty impressive but that was about it.

Clare and Tyler joined us and we had a great day out.  We had a fab lunch at pizza express although the first choice of the Christmas Pizza (that’s right with Turkey and stuffing etc) was unavailable as some fool had not ordered enough stuffing in 🙁

Vicky is heading out for a meal with friends tonight so night in for Simon and Elliot with XBOX I think.  Perhaps some Bond movies and cheeky beers……

Elliot kicked out of the pub !!!

Shopping in Leeds city centre started the day off nicely – a nice breakfast in Debenhams – mmmm…..

We checked out the Louis Vuitton shop to find a new pram bag is being released in the new year….. let’s see if we have the cash then….

Elliot had his 6 weekly check-up and came out with flying colours – as did Vicky with her check – although a stern reminder that the blood test still needs to be done – Vicky !!!!!!

Elliot has officially been kicked out of his first pub today 🙂 We nipped into a local as he was screaming and it was raining – we lasted all of 3 minutes before a rather pleasant young lady came over and told us to leave – Nice – I guess we’ll be going back there in a real hurry then……

Onwards and upwards…

The start of a new week – we have resorted to allowing Elliot to sleep in his autocot as he seems to be able to muster up between 8 and 11 hours sleep a night in it.  The cot in his room seems less appealing for some reason – would definitely have thought he would prefer to be in his own cool room with no dog noise and no daddy snoring all night.  Perhaps that is what keeps him sleeping…….

He has to go to be checked over by the health visitor today as he has his 6 weekly check at the doctors tomorrow – handy that they are not busy – would be a shame to have a six weekly check at 9 weeks – oh, wait….

Anyway, is really getting cold now so we are beginning to wrap up properly.  We walked the dogs last night and Vicky carried Elliot in his front carrying pouch – amazingly he went straight to sleep and we didn’t hear another murmur from him – was strange going out with no pushchair for a change.

At the weigh in today – 13lbs 1oz so Elliot has put on a whole 5oz in a week – a slight slow down on previous weeks but progression none the less.  Oh and he is now 65.5cm in length as well.  On the little red health book we have, the Health Visitor has been plotting his charts and it seems that he is currently way over where his expected growth should be – all of the plotted items (head circumference, total length, weight) are above the percentile – suggests he could be a pretty big chap all round.

Another week of shopping trips is on the cards……

Meeting more of the family…

We returned from our mini trip to Newcastle last night, where Elliot met his Great Grandma

amongst many other members of his family…

Believe it or not, he slept through both nights in the hotel causing Vicky to wonder if we should move in permanently :-).  Anyway, he similarly slept right through last night as well AND is down to just 4 bottles a day (or he was yesterday anyway).

We saw the Gullivers Travels show in Fenwicks window, and spent time in Eldon Square, the Metro Centre as well as a couple of 20 minute scream journeys where the little guy simply had trapped wind – seemed to really cause pain for him – as well as the fellow journey makers.

Pepsi and Max spent the three days with Auntie Jenny and seem to be sulking now they are back home – perhaps they got more attention from Jenny than we have been giving them recently – something we need to address in the coming weeks I guess.

We plan to go back for a few more days in late December – possibly in the New Year where maybe we will catch up with more of the family.
